Started as a dream of Charles and Nona Stephens, Skylake Galleries  officially opened Saturday April 7, 2018, kicking off with a reception for the artists on Friday, April 6th.  After purchasing the Skylake "Old Country Store" at the entrance to Skylake Nature Preserve in Sautee Nacoochee, GA, renovation began on the building that would house a beautiful collection of artists' work from around North Georgia, as well as nationally.  It would also offer quality antiques and home accessories.

The mission is not only to share high quality artwork, but also to highlight awareness to the beauty of the North Georgia area surrounding the gallery of the beautiful Sautee and Nacoochee Valleys.   Sautee Nacoochee is located in a Georgia Arts and Heritage District, and is one of the top 100 art towns in America.  What more fitting place to house  artwork to lift the spirit of all who visit.

The art is not limited to paintings on canvas.  The gallery also shows fine art photography, select pottery, sculpture, wood turnings, and antique  furniture, china, architectural artifacts, antique linens and lace and much, much more, to delight visitors with a discerning eye for what makes a house a home.

If you believe, as we do, that art and the creative process is not only to create things of beauty to look at, but it is also to enrich our  lives in the time we have on this earth.   We welcome you to visit, and just know,  you will come away feeling inspired to follow your own creative path.
