Deanna Black Hatfield
Deanna Hatfield has been drawing and painting all her life. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Georgia in 1994 (Go Dawgs!), with a double major in Painting and Graphic Design. She also studied at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Artists she has studied with include Deane Keller, Jerry Weiss, Ginzie Chancey, Kevin MacPherson, and John Asaro. Her mother, artist Judy Black, is her first and most important artistic influence.
Hatfield paints mostly landscapes en plein air, but also paints portraits and still lifes. Her primary medium is oil, but she also works some in charcoal and watercolor. Savvy collectors will recognize her strong draftsmanship skills, originality, and expressive painting style. Her main artistic goal is to create excellent works that will be loved and enjoyed.
