Although Dru paints varied subjects, landscapes are a current favorite. Many of these are done outside and often finished in the studio . She tries to capture the light, colors and feel of the location before the light changes. These works are done in oil.
Dru began painting as an adult by taking watercolor classes. Through the years she has taken many workshops and traveled around the country and abroad to paint. She is a member of the Blackberry Creek Artists group in Dawson County and the Plein Air Fine Arts Alliance group composed of seven North Georgia artists. They have exhibited in art centers throughout the state.
